Good experience in international logistics
Taiwan is not the forerunner of free trade zone, but is definitely the best place for direct investment. As compared with the competitors, Taiwan is conveniently located at the junction of inter-continental long-distance traffic, and connects to Europe and America horizontally, and to Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, New Zealand, and Australia vertically. This geographic location is irreplaceable. With its proximities to China, Vietnam, and Thailand, Taiwan has its distinguished a competitive advantage in terms of transportation. In the wake of significant changes in the external and internal economic environment, the government of Taiwan has determined to launch the free trade zone economy and committed its effort in integrating the information flow, business flows, and material flows in global logistics so that the enterprises can quickly accomplish the chain of business activities from product supply, ordering, transportation, and sales across national boundaries in Taiwan. Taiwan will emerge as a vital area for international procurement and logistics.
High-efficiency business processing
Goods arriving at Taiwan Free Trade Zone are not required to pass through the customs passage, customs clearance, bonding, and customs supervision, and are not required to declare import duty, commodity tax, and sales tax. Goods can be converged in the zone for in-depth processing and value adding, and then re-exported to all parts of the world. The zone allows for 98/3 (98% of the goods can be delivered within 3 days) or even the six-star logistic service of 100/2 (100% of the goods can be delivered in 2 days) in favor of the customers. The brand new mode of logistic operation will become the standard operation procedure in the free trade zones of Taiwan and round the clock service will be available in major seaports and airports. Enterprises can save at least 2/3 of their time in transportation and customs clearance and can create lucrative added-value.
